Baker Tilly International Chairman Tim Christen named trustee to the Financial Accounting Foundation
FAF announces Christen as one of five new trustee appointees.
The Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) today announced the appointment of Baker Tilly International Chairman Tim Christen as one of five new trustees. Christen will begin his term on 1 January 2021, concluding on 31 December 2025.
Speaking on the appointment, Ted Verkade, CEO of Baker Tilly International said: “I would like to congratulate Tim on this prestigious appointment. Tim is a true steward of our profession. His appointment to the FAF reflects his dedication to embracing change to build a bolder tomorrow. He brings leadership, experience and diversity of thought to the FAF.”

The FAF is the parent organisation of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). The FASB and GASB establish and improve financial accounting and reporting standards – known as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, or GAAP – for public and private companies, not-for-profit organisations, and state and local governments in the United States.
Christen is the Chairman of the Board of Baker Tilly International Ltd. He has over 30 years of experience in the public accounting profession including serving as Chairman of the AICPA. He most recently served as Chairman and CEO of Baker Tilly US LLP, a role that he held between 1998 and 2016. He is currently serving as a member of several additional boards, including CPA.com, a subsidiary of the AICPA, where he serves as Chairman of the Compensation and Audit Committees, privately held Sub-Zero Group, and NYSE listed Mayville Engineering Company where he serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee and member of the Nominations and Governance Committee. Christen has also been recognised as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Accounting Profession by Accounting Today and was included on the list of Most Admired US Managing Partners by Inside Public Accounting.
